Business Description | Our team Glenelg Vet Clinic is owned by Dr Angus McCurdie Dr Rebecca Nathan and Dr Andrew Nathan They have been part of the community here in Glenelg for over 20 years and are still loving every minute of it Doctors Will Cusworth Christina Snow and Eleanor Owen are all permanent members of the Glenelg Vet team Our vets are very experienced and committed to providing the best possible care to the pets of Glenelg Just as important are all our wonderful nurses who complete the team Katelyn Erica Charlotte Shayne Munroe Amie Steph Mel and Vanessa They are fabulous nurses who are dedicated to providing the best experience possible for you and your beloved pet Dr Angus McCurdie Angus has been at Glenelg Vet since 2005 and joined Bec and Andrew in partnership in 2008 From his home state Angus moved to Sydney to study vet science completing his studies in 2000 From Sydney Angus moved to the picturesque Clare Valley where he thrived on treating the large animals as much as the town pets From Clare Angus and his wife Anita travelled through the UK and Europe gaining further experience as a locum vet before coming home to settle in Adelaide In 2011 Angus completed post graduate studies in sonology ultrasound which he now thoroughly enjoys as well as general and orthopaedic surgery Angus also has a keen interest in caring for our older geriatric pets palliative care and oncology Angus and Anita now have three children who are growing up a little too fast Ella Scarlett and Tommy Besides being immersed in family life Angus likes to get away for as many mountain bike trips as possible recently travelling through Tasmania He regularly rides all of Adelaide s great mountain bike trails Dr Rebecca Nathan Bec has co owned and worked at Glenelg Vet since she and her husband Andrew took it over in 2000 An Adelaide girl originally she graduated from Murdoch University back in 1994 then like most vets she worked in the country for a few years before heading overseas to do locum work in the Uk Andrew and Bec lived there for a few years working and traveling around Europe in a camper van before settling back in Adelaide in 2000 Bec still loves being a vet especially the family doctor aspect of general practice and enjoys watching animals become such an important part of the family She also loves a challenging surgery and gets particular joy from removing all the weird stuff that animals have accidentally eaten When she is not at work she is usually running around after her two lovely boys Max and Harry walking Chip the Border Terrier or snuggling up on the couch next to Baxter the Burmese cat Dr Andrew Nathan Andrew is originally from Perth where he studied to be a vet before working for 3 years in southwest WA and 4 years in the UK Andrew has been at Glenelg Vet since 1999 soon after this he purchased the clinic with his wife Rebecca Andrew enjoys all aspects of being a vet and has completed postgraduate studies in Internal Medicine at the University of Sydney and Practice Management at the University of New England For his sins he has previously been State President of the Australian Veterinary Association as well as sitting on numerous other veterinary committees Out of work Andrew s favourite time of day is walking his dogs he also enjoys mountain bike riding and trying to keep up with his 2 teenage sons Dr Will Cusworth Born and schooled in Adelaide Will studied Veterinary Science at Murdoch University in Perth After graduating in 2002 he returned to Adelaide to commence work in a busy small animal practice before making a leap into full-time emergency practice Will worked for over 8 years providing Emergency and Critical Care services in a 24-hour veterinary referral hospital including 4 years as Veterinary Director of the Emergency service After the rigors of an intensive shift-work schedule and welcoming a son into his life in 2016 Will joined the team at Glenelg Vet in late 2017 He enjoys the multi-disciplinary nature of veterinary work and helping people reap the benefits of pet ownership in their daily lives In his down time he enjoys listening to music playing indoor football indulging a love of Italian vehicles and spending time with his wife and two young children Dr Christina Snow Growing up in Adelaide Christina completed her Veterinary Medicine and Surgery degree at Murdoch University in WA in 2004 After graduation she moved to NSW and worked in busy small animal practices across Sydney and the south coast of NSW In 2011 and with an expanding family she returned and is now very happy to call Adelaide home Christina enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice to help pets live long happy and healthy lives She is very pleased to be a part of the caring Glenelg Vet team When not working Christina and her husband Will have their spare time tightly managed by 3 energetic children Scarlet Louis and Bonnie a small flock of chooks a lively Cavoodle called Sadie and an elderly cat named Couscous She enjoys getting the kids outdoors for regular bush walking as well as squeezing in some yoga or a run Dr Eleanor Owen Eleanor was born and grew up in Adelaide before completing her veterinary science degree at the University of Melbourne She also completed a Bachelor of Animal Science studying the wild population of the endangered Proserpine rock wallaby in North Queensland Eleanor has worked in Adelaide for most of her veterinary career but spent three years working in Winchester England where she lived with her husband Sam and two children Claudia and Angus Eleanor enjoys all aspects of general small animal veterinary work especially developing good relationships with pets and their owners When not at work Eleanor spends most of her time with her family and two cats Gingie and Lola She enjoys running outdoor activities and spending time with friends particularly her much loved book club Chloe Chloe became a qualified Vet Nurse in 2016 and had been nursing in a busy small animal clinic in Adelaide before joining our team in 2019 She was lucky enough to volunteer at a safari park more than 8 years ago and that experience spurred her on to enrol in her nursing studies While there Chloe worked with lions tigers cubs and meerkats Outside of work she enjoys playing social netball and catching up with friends for some weekend wines as well as spending time with her Beagalier Cesar and Domestic Shorthair Chester Chloe loves to travel with her husband Michael her favourite destinations being Europe America and the Maldives Shayne Shayne joined the nursing team in late 2020 After spending some time in South Africa working with big game animals she was inspired to complete her Certificate II in Animal Studies and has recently finished a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at TAFE Pets have always been a big part of her life so she knows the joy and emotional support they bring to their owners When she s not at work you can find her spending time with friends and family hanging out with her fur child Cassidy or finding somewhere good to eat Katelyn - Nurse Manager Katelyn has been with us since 2013 qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse in 2015 and is now our nurse manager She has a love for animals and enjoys the company and unconditional love they bring Katelyn and her husband Jordan have their lives kept busy with two young children Edward and Briana They have a border collie Jacko who enjoys spending time with all the family Erica Erica had 18 years of nursing experience before joining us at Glenelg Vet in 2012 Erica was born in Northern Ireland and moved to SA when she was 8 years old She started vet nursing on completion of High School Erica and her husband Dave have two beautiful children Joel and Ruby She has a strong interest in animal behaviour as well as running the Glenelg Vet Puppy Preschool Erica is completing her DELTA dog training accreditation enabling her to offer clients the best practical tips on positive reward training As well as her busy family life Erica enjoys playing netball running and boxing Charlotte Charlotte has been with the Glenelg Vet Team since early 2017 She moved back to her home town of Adelaide after spending 15 years living and working as a veterinary nurse in Sydney and the UK and travelling around Europe Charlotte is a certificate IV qualified nurse and has been in the industry since 2004 Charlotte is enjoying being back in Adelaide and especially likes the family atmosphere and loyal and dedicated community of clients at Glenelg Vet Charlotte and her husband Austin have welcomed their first baby Flynn in August 2018 and their second son little Leo in August 2021 Munroe Munroe joined the Glenelg Vet team in 2022 and before this had worked in mixed animal practices in the Adelaide Hills and Mount Gambier After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Behaviour Munroe has recently finished a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing She especially likes the caring role she has as a veterinary nurse and providing special attention to our animals in recovery Munroe grew up on an Adelaide hills property surrounded by all creatures great and small including dogs farm animals horses She currently has her own horse Rajah and two dogs Ellenore Lolly In her spare time she enjoys riding her horse walking her dogs on the beach and having coffee with friends Amie Born in Thailand and raised in South Australia Amie knew she had an extra heart for nurturing animals Amie s love for animals led her down the path of wanting to broaden her knowledge beyond just their friendly faces so she completed her Certificate III in Rural Operations in 2019 She experienced working with a range of livestock and small animals learning about their behaviors proper care and their biochemistry In 2022 she began studying Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing After her first year she undertook her placement with us and was officially asked to join the Glenelg Team at the beginning of 2023 Throughout her life Amie has always found animals to be some of the best life companions She enjoys being a vet nurse because she is able to use her love of animals to help owners and their pets live their most fulfilling and healthy lives In her spare time you ll find Amie out bush camping on a hike or out for brunch with friends At home she is often accompanied by her beloved companion the sweetest cat you d ever meet Barney Mel Mel has always been an animal lover From an early age she had all manner of pets mice who would be taken to school in her blazer pocket guinea pigs rabbits cats dogs horses sheep galahs chickens ducks who s ducklings would have a bath with her Mel would also rescue all wildlife that her parents allowed her to care for such as fruit bats red kangaroo joeys and ring-tailed possums Mel has ensured her two girls Chloe and Bridget now 16 and 20 grew up surrounded by a menagerie of animals making a happy home Her girls thought she was a bit crazy when she once found a lifeless frozen baby possum and put it in an open oven wrapped in a tea towel only to witness its twitching to life once warm Olaf the possum was nurtured for weeks and bottle fed till joining his friends at Minton Farm Mel has two hungarian vizslas Barney andOllie and a burmese cat Ava Mel was previously a human registered nurse with 17 years experience 13 of those being within the critical care sector ICU and emergency Mel now loves being a vet nurse andbrings to the clinic a wealth of knowledge from her previous roles that she hopes to build on andbecome an integral member of the GVC team Outside of work Mel loves hiking with her walking buddies and two dogs gardening cooking yoga pilates and catching up with friends Stephanie Stephanie has always had a love for animals She enjoys being around them and has always felt a want to help them when she can Steph grew up in a household with two cocker spaniels Harvey and Hunter and is now a proud cat mum to her fur child Mowie When she s not at work Steph loves to travel with her partner and likes hanging out with family and friends Steph is about to start her veterinary nurse training
