today Chris graduated from The University of Edinburgh in June 1998 He spent his first year working in general practice in England and then caught the travel bug He spent the next few years travelling the world and locuming in the UK and Australia finally settling in Australia in late 2002 He has been the main vet at Oxenford Vet Surgery since 2005 and has owned the practice since 2009 When not at work Chris has a busy life at home with Cathy two children two small dogs and two Burmese cats He enjoys watching sport especially soccer listening to loud music and has a more recently discovered interest in DIY Dr Tamara graduated from the University of Queensland in 2016 with Honors Before becoming aveterinarian Tamara was a veterinary nurse in a semi-rural general mixed practice for 6 years andit was this same practice she began her career as a Veterinary Surgeon Since moving to the GoldCoast Tamara has spent many years in general practice where she found her love for small animalmedicine and the challenges of dealing with complex cases Dr Tamara enjoys building relationshipswith her clients to ensure they leave the clinic feeling comfortable with their pets care and cantrust that she will treat them as if they were her own In her spare time Dr Tamara enjoys practicing Pilates travelling the world and spending quality timewith her family and crazy Hungarian Vizsla Cathy graduated from the University of Sydney in 1997 She worked on the central coast of NSW before moving over to the UK for a couple of years after meeting Chris She then worked in Nerang for 15years before moving to work with our team as the practice became busier When not working she enjoys quilting baking cakes playingh the piano and listening to 80s tunes Wittey graduated from the University of Queensland and previously worked at an animal hospital in Logan before joining our team in 2017 When not at work she enjoys cooking travelling board games swimming tennis and rock climbing Wittey has a keen interest in pocket pets and has owned numerous mice and rats At home she is also kept busy by her cat Evie and dogs Ollie and Maya Paula grew up in New Zealand came to live in Australia as a teenager She has been nursing for over 20 years After starting out working in an animal shelter she came to Oxenford Veterinary Surgery in November 2006 Paula shares a home with her partner Floyd her rescued furbabies who she loves dearly Chloe the pampered pooch and her 2 Devon Rex cats Prinkle and Poppety Moppet Emily joined the team here at Oxenford Vet Surgery after starting a study placement in September 2017 Emily lives with her son Max She loves giant breeds and owns a crazy Great Dane called Fred She is always ready to greet our furry clients with a smile and a cuddle just like Zeus who she is pictured with Rachelle has been a nurse here since August 2015 She loves spending time with her husband two daughters and has three dogs and two cats She enjoys spending time up in Caloundra on holiday staying home watching movies and playing video games Rachelle would love to learn more about and care for exotic animals and wildlife Chloe is one of our newer nurses joining us in 2022 Don t be fooled though she comes with a natural talent for winning your dogs over with treats and belly rubs She has 3 cats and 1 dog of her own who keep her busy all the time Originally from Toowoomba Bec joined our Oxenford Veterinary Surgery team in February 2017 She has been in the animal industry since 2013 but has loved all things animal since she was a young girl Bec enjoys spending time with her husband three young daughters and her son exploring the great outdoors She has a passion for breeding pedigree Ragdolls Staffy s along with caring for our native wildlife James is one of the newest nurses here at the clinic starting in October 2022 James lives with his partner 2 sausage dogs Winnie pictured and Leela and his 3 Guinea pigs Croissant Toffee and Pepper At home James is an avid gamer and nerd on all things pop culture Neville the Chihuahua has been part of the Oxenford Vet Surgery team since being rescued by Rachelle in 2018 He loves rolling in the grass barking at everyone in sight and eating poop He may look nervous but he is a Rottweiler at heart Russell lives with Chris and Cathy He is a red burmese He likes stealing socks climbing on top of furniture and waking people up as early as possible Prinkle and Poppety Moppet are Paula s mischievous Devon Rex cats Winnie the Dachshund lives with James Don t let her sweet face fool you she s fast and loves to play Kevin is Chloe s boisterous Italian Greyhound
