Graduated from Sydney Univ in 1985 with a bachelor of Pharmacology Then in 1990 with a bachelor of Veterinary Science This was followed by a short stint in mixed practice in South Australia before working as a pure small animal veterinarian at Ryde Veterinary Clinic for 9 5 years Libby also has an interest in art gaining her Diploma of Fine Arts from the Northern Beaches TAFE in 2004 Libby joined Seaforth Vets in a full time position in July 2009 I dreamt of becoming a vet since I was five years of age but ended up in the family s graphic design business until my mid 20s when I finally decided to pursue my dream of becoming a vet I graduated from Sydney University in 2008 with a bachelors degree in veterinary science I started working at Seaforth Veterinary Hospital as a locum in 2014 and never ended up leaving as I loved the clinic and its patients so much I enjoy all aspects of general practice medicine including geriatric medicine and focusing on quality of life for senior dogs and cats I have never been without a cat in my life and have a special interest in all things feline including feline behaviour My own cat certainly provides much practice in behavioural challenges I am blessed to have been welcomed by the team at Seaforth in February 2023 as a volunteer I am currently undergoing a certificate in animal studies and am well on my way to becoming a vet nurse under the guidance of some incredibly skilled people I decided to change careers last year to pursue my passion for working with animals particularly the non-human kind I achieved Certificate 4 accreditation as both a Delta Accredited Behavioural Trainer and Veterinary Nurse I had the pleasure of nursing and taking Puppy Classes at Seaforth Vets for some 14 years and now thoroughly enjoy my role on Reception meeting and greeting our wonderful clients and their beautiful pets I live harmoniously with 2 dogs 2 chickens and one patient husband I am actively involved in competitive obedience agility and scent work and have achieved all ANKC Australian National Kennel Club titles at the top trial levels I grew up on a small farm in NW Tassie where I fell in love with animals Years later I was able to combine this with my office experience and find my dream job here at Seaforth Vets Moving to Sydney I had to downgrade my hopes of owning some land to take on unwanted animals Instead I have rehomed cats rabbits Guinea Pigs and a sweet little rat We also encourage wildlife into our backyard birds possums and blue tongues A few of our canine patients at Seaforth are nearly horse sized so I can almost get my equine fix here Over the years I have lived and worked in many countries and moved to Australia from New Zealand in 2019 I have worked in everything from accounting to flight attending but have always loved animals so I decided to start working in the animal industry I have two gorgeous Hungarian Vizslas and a warmblood mare who keep me busy in my spare time 02 9949 1288
