The first thing you need to do if you spot a tick on your dog is try to remove it as safely as possible.

Use a pair of fine-tipped tweezers, grasp the tick as close to the skin as possible and pull straight upwards with a slow, steady motion.

Clean the bite area with rubbing alcohol or antiseptic wipes.
