The Lynx Point Siamese cat is a mixed breed that originated from an accidental mating between a Seal Point Siamese and a tabby cat in the 1940s. The resulting kittens had the color point pattern of the Siamese, but with tabby markings within the points. Breeders soon noticed that these cats had a more friendly and sociable temperament than the purebred Siamese, and began to intentionally breed them in the 1960s.
