One of the most common animals that start with Y, is heavily built creature with thick and long hair. These heavy animals are native to parts of Central Asia, Mongolia, and Nepal and are native to China, and Tibet. 

The Qiang tribespeople used these animals as domesticated animals for about 5000 years in history. “Yaks can live at altitudes up to 20,000 ft, the highest of any land-dwelling animals.”

“Beautiful but dangerous,” is the perfect way to describe a Yarara, this robust looking snake is among the most dangerous snakes in the world. Their venom is efficient and quick to kill. 

If only a small amount goes inside your body, it can kill the person easily. Even the babies that are born are highly venomous. 

The female yarara are significantly larger than the male ones. Being nocturnal, they are expert predators in the dark.

“The yeti crab has hairy arms, which collect bacteria to feed on. The yeti is a family of deep-sea decapods crustaceans with hairy arms and a white shell.”

It is interesting that the yeti crabs usually pile on the top of each other, that way they keep each other warm close to the hydrothermal vents. Upon research, scientists counted about 700 yeti crabs each square meter.

The Yorarian dog breed is known to be highly intelligent and they are great with other dogs or children. Being a hybrid dog breed, they are a cross between two popular breeds of pomeranian and Yorkshire Terrier.

These yellow sac spiders are nocturnal creatures, and they hunt for their prey and do not catch on the webs. These spiders are known as mildly venomous since the bites are not at all deadly.

Known to form school with other species of Tuna, the yellowfin are the second commonly eaten tuna fish in the world. 

These yellowfins are now to swim about 50 miles per hour, the new hatched fry are quite small, almost microscopic in their size. 

As group animals, while migrating the yellowfin tuna likes to form large schools along with bigeye, dolphins, whales, and skipjack.

The crossbreeding of Japanese chickens was done in the mid- 19th century and created the Phoenix and Yokohama chicken breeds.

    Yabby is a completely aquatic freshwater crayfish that can be found in Australia and has the biggest range of it there. It is a member of the Cherax family and they mostly live in slow-moving waters across New Guinea and Australia. 

    They are a special survival mechanism that allows them to live through long periods of drought. A few members of the family often cause problems and damage the walls of the dams. 

    Their color mostly ranges from blue-black to dark brown or black. Some of the species are also beige, light brown or green-brown. their abdomen is smooth and is wide as their thorax. They weigh between 0.4 to 0.18 pounds, and they are 2.7 to 7.8 inches tall.

      The Yakute people used to use these dogs for pulling sleds, so it is not wrong if we say they are among the first sled dogs. The Yakutian Laikas have recently become popular in other parts of the world, though they are an ancient breed.  Their origin could be traced back to Russian Siberia. 

      The Yakute people used to breed them for herding raindeers, pulling sleds, and hunting across the hunting terrain. With the advancement of technologies, the number of Yakutian dogs has decreased as they have got better modes of transportation.

        Yellow aphids are parasitic insects that live on plants like milkweed or oleander. They are small in size and measure between 0.059 and 0.10 inches in length. Doing justice to their name, they are yellow in color with black legs. 

        These insects do not have wings in general but might develop later when the infestation becomes too large, and they have to move to other hosts. They do not lay eggs and directly give birth to nymphs.
